2025: The Year of Renewed Vision

When anyone that is truly conscious look around, they will see the enormous power of vision. This power is manifested in powerful thinking, setting visionary goals, and dedicating our lives in the work of the Lord. It has always amazed me when I see the amount of human effort made in areas of science, sports, music and business in order to gain great accomplishments. How much more should we as Christians be able to accomplish when we make up our minds to have great vision based on faith in the God! In 2025, let's renew and elevate our vision in the following areas:

Vison For Ourselves - We must first believe that God can work powerfully in our own lives. Many of God's greatest servants had to be convinced to have vision for themselves. An example is the call of Jeremiah.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.' ' Ah, Sovereign Lord, ' But the Lord said to me, 'Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.' Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you, ' declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 1:5-8). Jeremiah had to overcome his fears and lack of vision for himself. In Ephesians, Paul makes it clear that all of us have been chosen by God to be holy and that our lives are to be for the praise of His glory (1:3-12). God has a unique plan for each of our lives - it is up to us whether it is fulfilled. We need to believe that no matter what has happened in our past, God can accomplish His purposes in our lives this year i we are willing.

Moses also has a problem having vision for himself. he resisted God's call several times before he was convinced God could use him to lead the people out of Egypt. Moses did not believe he was the man for the job. He was afraid that his message from God would be rejected. He said he was not eloquent and finally just asked God to send someone else (Exodus 3-4) All of us have some insecurities in areas such as our background, personality, physical appearance, and lack skill or experience. But we must not let our insecurities cripple us. When we do it is a result of either selfishness or lack of trust in God's promises. God created each of us exactly the way he wanted us and has given us the power to change

to become more like Christ. Let's believe that God can use each one of us powerfully in 2025.

Vision For The Church - The first-century church was exciting! There was rapid growth, daily conversions, selling possessions, miracles, bold preaching. In short, there was tremendous impact.  But there were also many obstacles which the early church faced. Persecution to the point of imprisonment and death; sin in the ranks (Acts 5); neglect of needs within the body (Acts 6); doctrinal disagreements (Acts 15) - to name only a few.  Yet they still took the gospel to the entire world!

The key question for us today is, "Do we believe the impact of the first century church can be reproduced by the church today?"We have the same resources! The same Spirit indwells us, we pray to the same powerful God, we proclaim the same message, we have experienced the same salvation, we know the same love, and we have the same basis of unity. Let's never focus on the negative. Beware of negative people that destroy your elders, preachers and those on the "frontline" of the Lord's army! Satan - the real enemy goal is to DIVIDE and CONQUER!! A strong leadership will fortify the fold, but a weak leadership will allow this to happen! We must not allow problems and obstacles to discourage us! Let us have great vision for what God can do in this church this year!

Vision For The World - "Do not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'?  I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest" (John 4:35). Jesus had an undying vision for the world harvest. There is always a harvest of souls in any city at any time. When Paul was in Corinth, the Lord encouraged him in a vision. "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city" (Acts 18:9-10). We must open our eyes to the harvest in our city. Let's have vision for our neighbors, friends, relatives, classmates and co-workers to become disciples. Let's believe that strangers we meet can become our brothers or sisters in Christ. Let's believe that God will put open people in our lives. Let's have vision for Atlanta and the world in 2025!  (Mark 9:23)
